The Islamic Revolution in Iran, based on the values and fundamental concepts of the revolution, shaped a specific type of political entity, resulting in new meanings of enemy and friend at the levels of thought, identity and action, and in all areas, including foreign policy. However, the governments that took over executive affairs in the country after the revolution, with diverse perspectives, began to modify the nature of the political entity, shifting the balance in the nature of the political entity towards antagonism or agonism. The results of these issues, by shaping the cognitive aspect of the general public, once again led to the formation of priorities and goals in foreign policy as a constantly active cycle. This research, using Chantal Mouffe's analytical model to examine the nature of the political entity, seeks to explain the effects of the nature of the political entity of postrevolution governments on the field of foreign policy, which are presented based on interpretive models such as holistic constructivism as identityforming elements in foreign policy. Accordingly, the change in the nature of the political entity after the revolution has led to a change in the perception of the foreign policy environment,a change in demands in foreign policy, and a change in foreign policy trends. The results sho the overall growth of antagonism in the nature of the political entity after the revolution, which has resulted in changes commensurate with antagonism in the foreign policy environment, demands, and foreign policy trend.
