Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the bilateral relationship between the government and the people and its impact on national consensus, as well as to identify the factors affecting the interaction between the government and the people and how national consensus is formed in different societies. The bilateral relationship between the government and the people in national consensus is important as a basis for solidarity and cooperation in achieving the desired goals in society. This interaction, in addition to reducing the distances and increasing trust between the government and the people, is also necessary to solve political and social challenges. The main question of the present study is how the bilateral relationship between the government and the people can strengthen or weaken national consensus? Following this question, sub-questions are also raised. The qualitative research method is a document analysis type, and the tool of document review of existing documents, including theses, books, articles, and interviews, was used to collect data. The findings indicate that effective and transparent communication between the government and the people leads to strengthening national consensus and increasing public satisfaction. The results also indicate that ignoring the demands of the people can lead to the weakening of national consensus and increased social dissatisfaction. This article seeks to provide solutions to improve the interaction between the government and the people and strengthen national consensus in societies. Strengthening transparency and accountability, as well as encouraging civic participation, can be mentioned as solutions to improve the interaction between the government and the people and, as a result, strengthen national consensus.
