Abstract
Although the concept of woman may seem to be interpretive, it is the big issue of any well-established political and social philosophy in the contemporary world. In every interpretation of women a sort of semantic effect and some forms of cultural-civilizational values have been implied that manifest the structure and substance of a desirable woman in that civilization. The Islamic Revolution of Iran is no exception to this rule. This paper applies qualitative content analysis (inductive) method within three alternatives of main category, intermediate category and subcategory to answer the principal question of “What claims did the proponents of women’s rights make in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (First to Eighth Parliament) on family issues and which claims did they win?” Findings of the paper showed that although women tried to have their demands fulfilled with minimum demands they made, the dominance of traditional approach proved to be a serious obstacle to realization of what women and their proponents sought as their rights.
