Abstract
The theory of the Islamic Caliphate has its roots in the first century of Islam and due to its importance in Sunni political thought, it has been studied many times by Muslim scholars and many works have been written in this field. This theory has pros and cons among Sunni scholars, the first group of whom have offered rational and narrative arguments for its necessity; But the opposition group has denied it out of necessity. Some have gone even further than Islam minus politics. However, there is no theoretical consensus on the necessity and non-necessity of the caliphate. Among these, Ramadan al-Bouti, a contemporary Ash'arite figure, addressed the Islamic caliphate and spoke of its necessity in contemporary Islamic societies. Therefore, in the present study, a descriptive-analytical method has been tried to evaluate his views on the caliphate.
